Training Options
Edge K9 offers several training options in order to best fit your needs. The primary goal in all of our programs is to teach you and your dog to communicate together, learn together, and build a quality relationship together. Each program is built on the standard pillars of our balanced training system while leaving room to customize it to your situation.
All programs include:
Fifteen foot leash
Martingale collar
Reward bag
Clicker
Although we strongly recommend e-collar training as a part of our programs it is not a requirement for training with us. We will discuss the benefits of e-collar training with you and let you make an educated decision.
Private Lessons
Edge K9 recognizes the importance of the relationship between a dog and their owner and values coaching owners as much as we love building dogs.
Therefore we offer the option of private lesson packages allowing you to learn with your dog each step of the way while keeping your dog at home with you. A private lesson package is a great opportunity for the two of you to learn and grow together, if you are willing, able, and possess the desire to set your dog up for success.
Our private lesson programs are more than just a one on one lesson with George at your scheduled time. The program actually consists of two parts, the in person lesson and video homework. You will have your scheduled in person lesson. Depending on the program developed for you the frequency of lessons varies from twice a week to once every two weeks. Between these you will submit at least two video homework assignments which George will review and provide you feedback. The video homework allows the opportunity to insure you are performing the assignments correctly, make any necessary adjustments, praise the things you are doing well, and help better plan the next in person lesson.
Therefore as an example an 8 lesson package is really includes at least 24 lessons.
In addition if at any time you have a question or concern you can contact George through text, email, or schedule a call at no additional cost.
Private Lesson Packages:
Foundation (6 Lessons / $990):
In the Foundation program you and your dog will learn the concepts and applications of the teaching elements such as:
Communication
Marker training
Luring
Free shaping
Classical and Operant Conditioning
Leash pressure
The training system provides you the skills and understanding to teach behaviors such as those listed below, as well as problem solve other situations.
Impulse control
Manners
Leash walking
Environmental exposure
Recall / Place / Sit
Foundation Plus (8 Lessons / $1320) includes everything in the Foundation program while adding additional opportunity for environmental exposure and knowledge proofing. You will coached on field trips into the real world, so you and your dog can further grow your relationship and understanding.
E-Collar (12 Lessons / $2160) program takes everything from Foundation and then layers over the use of an e-collar to enhance your skill set. You will be taught how to use the e-collar to create clear communication, allowing your dog to enjoy off-leash freedom.
Behavior Modification (8 - 12 lessons / $1980) provides the opportunity to address significant issues such as dog aggression, food aggression, possessiveness, etc. You will learn the same system taught in Foundation and then be coached in how to apply it to your dog’s issues in order to create a new understanding and life together.

Puppy Foundation
Our Puppy Foundation is a two (2) week board and train program designed for puppies 12 weeks to 6 months old. Your puppy will receive their learning foundation in our training system for future growth and a strong relationship with you. We will establish a communication system based on engagement, marker training, and boundaries. They will learn through classical and operant conditioning to be confident and well mannered.

Proper leash walking
Basic obedience foundation
Environmental exposure
After the training you and your puppy are members of the Edge K9 community. This entitles your puppy to a 10% discount on enrollment in future training programs.
2 week board & train program - $1800
Adult Dog Board and Train Packages
Board and train packages are 2 weeks or 3 weeks in length. A program may run longer than scheduled if more time is needed in order to get your dog to where it is meeting our standards before returning home. Programs can be customized to cover the needs of your relationship with your dog. While in training your dog will learn:
Marker training
Impulse control
Manners
Leash walking
Environmental exposure
Sit / Place / Recall
E-collar program on request
Address identified specific issues
After training you will receive a turn-over lesson with your dog teaching you what they learned, how to communicate with them, and how to grow your relationship. You will also receive a follow-up private lesson typically around two months after your dog has returned home. Our board and train programs provide you unlimited support for the life of your dog. If there is ever a question, concern, or issue we are only a call away.

Boarding
Boarding at Edge K9 is not like boarding at a large kennel. As a small kennel we provide a personal level of service where we talk to you about your wants and your dogs needs. Your dog's stay will include at least two walks a day and free play time in the yard. When possible, with your permission, we like to take the dogs on errands and excursions. We strive to treat your dog like a member of our family while making safety the first priority.
$55 per night
$45 per night for each additional dog
